Volunteer - Mobile UX Design
A mobile application designed to efficiently select volunteer projects in New York City.
Volunteer NYC is a mobile UX design centered around information architecture of various categories of events and the flow of the user interaction with this data.
The application is user centered design in selecting a volunteer project based on the user's preferences in activity, location, date, and time.
Research
From inspiration of existing volunteer organizations, such as New York Cares and Do Something, I wanted to create an intuitive user flow that is best fit for a mobile environment.
User Flow
Information architecture is mapped out how a user will filter through the data and options presented as they select a project.
Wireframes
Initial mobile wireframes with data organized based on user flow.
Hero Screens/UI
After testing the interaction of the wireframes, features were adjusted with more maps, efficient filtering systems, and ease of switching dates. The user interface design also has a contrasting color scheme and more images for a lively feel and allows the user to better connect with the community.
